Anglican Care
Throughout the years, churches in the Diocese have been quietly and consistently carrying out social ministries, often with no acknowledgement or recognition.
Anglican Care started as an umbrella body which works to facilitate and address the needs of the various care ministries within the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia.
In its initial stage, Bishop Lim Cheng Ean appointed Mr. Neil Rode to head an Interim Committee. Subsequently, in 2005, Mrs. Lydia Wong was appointed as the 1st Chairperson of Anglican Care. Since 2012, Ms. Annamaney Arumanayagam has been appointed as the Chairperson.
Although young as a Council (since 2005), Anglican Care’s oldest ministry is St. Nicholas Home in Penang which is more than 90 years old (founded in 1926)!

VISION STATEMENT
To express the LOVE, GRACE, MERCY and COMPASSION of our LORD JESUS CHRIST to the community at large through Social Care, Concern and Action. Our aim is to be the visible expression of God’s love to the community.
THE ROLE OF ANGLICAN CARE
- Advocacy – we are of one mind that Anglican Care should focus on being the Voice of all social ministries under the Diocese in relation to:
A. governmental policies and implementation of those policies
B. current social issues affecting our ministries - Awareness – Creating awareness on the various works being done by the social ministry under the banner of Anglican Care.
- Capacity Building – Anglican Care would take the lead in capacity building for its members by providing systematic training and strategic planning.

When I was 16, my brother and I attended a Methodist Youth Retreat organized by the Tamil Methodist Church, Taiping which was held in Bukit Larut. It was at this retreat that I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour. I was a Methodist then.
Since my retirement as Diocesan Bishop at the end of March 2007, God has been faithful in caring for us over the twelve years.
