Anglican Care<\/strong><\/p>

Throughout the years, churches in the Diocese have been quietly and consistently carrying out social ministries, often with no acknowledgement or recognition.<\/p>

Anglican Care<\/strong> started as an umbrella body which works to facilitate and address the needs of the various care ministries within the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia.<\/p>

In its initial stage, Bishop Lim Cheng Ean appointed Mr. Neil Rode to head an \u00a0Interim Committee<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Subsequently, in 2005, Mrs. Lydia Wong was appointed as the 1st<\/sup> Chairperson of Anglican Care.\u00a0 Since 2012, Ms. Annamaney Arumanayagam has been appointed as the Chairperson.<\/p>

Although young as a Council (since 2005), \u00a0Anglican Care\u2019s oldest \u00a0ministry is\u00a0 St. Nicholas Home in Penang which is more than 90 years old (founded in 1926)!<\/p>

VISION STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>

To express the LOVE, GRACE, MERCY and COMPASSION of our LORD JESUS CHRIST to the community at large through Social Care, Concern and Action.\u00a0 Our aim is to be the visible expression of God\u2019s love to the community<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>


THE ROLE OF ANGLICAN CARE<\/strong><\/p>

  1. Advocacy<\/strong> – we are of\u00a0one mind\u00a0that Anglican Care should focus on being the Voice of all social ministries under the Diocese in relation to:
    A.<\/strong> governmental policies and implementation of those policies
    B.<\/strong> current social issues affecting our ministries<\/li>
  2. Awareness<\/strong> – Creating awareness on the various works being done by the social ministry under the banner of Anglican Care.<\/li>
  3. Capacity Building<\/strong> – Anglican Care\u00a0would take the lead in capacity building for its members by providing systematic training and strategic planning.<\/li><\/ol>

    1. Services for the Visually Impaired<\/strong>
